You can expect a high level of professional coaching, with everything we discuss confidential between me and you. I'm a member of the International Coaching Federation and bound by their coaching code of ethics. While coaching is most effective over several sessions, everyone is different. I recommend at least 3 sessions, but depending on your goals or issues, we may need up to 10 sessions. Before you commit to a coaching program, we can discuss exactly what you're looking for and I can advise you on what I think is best.
I have extensive experience in coaching, spending my entire working life coaching media talent and senior managers in industry. I've recently completed my Diploma of Leadership Coaching with the Australian Institute of Professional Coaches, and I'm a member of the International Coaching Federation. I'm also an accredited DISC ADVANCED® Consultant, and have an MBA with focus on strategic management, international business and organisational change management. I understand the challenges modern day leaders face, which is why I want to use my skills and knowledge to help you achieve your goals.
Professional Coaching sessions are 1 hour, where we spend the time talking about what is most important to you at that moment in time. Using a guided approach, we will uncover critical issues and set goals and action plans, and review these actions during subsequent sessions. Success of the coaching sessions will require 100% commitment from you and is in your hands. My job as coach is to ask questions, guide you, and provide support and encouragement for your positive change in behaviours.
As mentioned, I recommend starting with 3 sessions. Usually it takes 1 or 2 sessions simply to uncover the critical issue before moving forward to goal setting and action planning. Professional Coaching is something I don't rush. I want to make sure you get the full benefit of your sessions so you can get closer to your ultimate goal of transforming your life.
I prefer to coach face-to-face in person as it helps the coaching experience. However, like most things in 2022, I'm doing more and more remote/virtual coaching. Virtual coaching is also more convenient for clients who live interstate or overseas. We can talk more about this at our initial meeting.
Anything we discuss during our professional coaching session is confidential. I will take notes for my coaching purposes, and provide you with a summary of what we discuss after each session. All notes and correspondence remain secure. When I no longer require your notes, I will securely destroy them.
This is a common question. Our coaching sessions are confidential and what we discuss stays between you and me. If your company pays for your coaching sessions, I will not provide them with any details of our sessions. I'll just send them the bill!
Professional Coaching is about addressing an issue you have now, or a goal you want to achieve in the future. It is about working with you, identifying and helping you remove any obstacles that prevent you from being the best "you" you can be. Counselling or therapy is more about looking in the past and addressing issues that have effected you. One thing to note, if during our coaching sessions I uncover something that may need help from a medical practitioner, I will stop our session and seek your permission to address this and refer you to an appropriate professional.
Before we agree to any professional coaching sessions, I like to meet with you to discuss your understanding of coaching, my responsibilities as coach and yours as my client, and to ensure it's right for you and that we "gel". Because coaching is a partnership, we both have to make sure we feel the other is the right fit before proceeding. Once we're both happy we can then discuss how many sessions you might require, which will be formalised in a coaching agreement.
Prices available on request.
Most people complete their questionnaire within 15-20 minutes. I recommend you allow at least 30 minutes without interruption.
I get your results as soon as you complete the online questionnaire. I will then work out a time with you to debrief, at which time you will receive a digital copy of your report with a hard copy to follow soon after.
During a debrief I give you a brief summary of the individual DISC behaviour styles, and discuss the attributes of each style. We will then look through your report, focusing on your individual style, strengths, and areas for development. I'll also provide you with several tools to help you identify the behaviour style of others, and tips on communicating and working with the different styles. We will also build an action plan to ensure you take advantage of this great tool you now have.
Yes. Everyone will get their own assessment report, and we then debrief as a team. The team debrief is a little more detailed, and includes a number of exercises. I can also generate a team report that shows your entire team's DISC styles, which will give you a better feel on some of the strengths and challenges your team might face, and what you have to put in place to maximise your team's performance.
Costs vary depending on whether you want the assessment for yourself, a few people, or a whole team. Individual assessments (which include a bound copy of your report plus a personalised debriefing session) are just $380. All other prices on available upon request.
If you're not sure, contact me and we can discuss your needs in more detail. There is a process that I follow to get information from you to understand the group, and what you're trying to achieve. I can then give you some guidance about what you need, and how I see the facilitation process working with your group.
Good question. As a facilitator, I'm not coming in as a subject matter expert. I'm coming in as a facilitation expert. I will manage the process of the group, and based around your purpose and what you're trying to achieve, I will plan the session accordingly. So in short, no it's not important that I know what you and your group do. My job is to come in as a facilitator and guide you towards your purpose.
I spend a lot of time planning the group session. Part of this planning involves talking with you about the group - what has worked, what hasn't, who everyone is etc. This will help me identify some key areas to help me build a strong and purposeful session. And while there is no magic formula that I use going into a session, you can be assured that I'm prepared for whatever might happen once the group session starts. My goal is to use my skills and experience to get the best out of the group, and for the group to achieve its purpose.
The price depends on the group, how many people, and how many hours or days I recommend. Price will include preparation of the group session, plus any travel costs. Once we meet and discuss your needs, I will provide a proposal outlining the session and all costs.
It's up to you to organise a venue (if the group is meeting in person). I will provide suggestions on the venue, setup etc. We can discuss this more during our planning stage.
Yes. While like most things involving teams, in person and face-to-face is preferable, I do facilitate virtual sessions. Again, we discuss the logistics of a virtual session during planning.
